Atlanta United 2 picked up a point on the road after playing Orlando City B to a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes before falling in penalties 5-3. Nick Firmino claimed his first goal of the season while Karim Tmimi netted his fourth of year. Academy product Alan Carleton provided the assist for both of Atlanta's goals for the first multi-assist outing of the season.

Orlando struck early in the match, netting the opening goal in the 11th minute. Jhon Solis floated a ball over the Atlanta backline to the right of the 18, forcing a scramble that saw Josh Cohen rush to collect the ball but before he could get there Alexander Freeman slotted a pass to the middle of the box for Wilfred Rivera to score on the open net.

The home side looked to double the lead in the 27th minute after Shakur Mohammed received a pass just outside the six-yard box. Mohammed wound up a shot that looked to slip past Atlanta's defense but Homegrown defender Matt Edwards recovered for a last-second slide tackle to send the shot off target.

ATL UTD 2 began to settle and carve out chances midway through the half. In the 29th, Noble Okello battled for the ball outside the opposing box, winning a tackle before popping a shot from 20-yards away but his shot was read by the keeper. Atlanta's final chance came in the 37th minute of the match after defender Ethan Dudley connected on a header at the back post but his attempt fell just wide.

Neither side created a dangerous chance until the 70th minute when Atlanta pulled a goal back after Carleton floated a cross from the right flank to Firmino who put in a header at the back post to level things at 1-1.

Tmimi put ATL UTD 2 ahead in the 88th after Carleton started a counter attack, laying off a pass for Tmimi at the top of the box, who nutmegged his defender and goalkeeper to take the 2-1 lead.

Orlando pulled the match level in the 95th minute after Favian Loyola dribbled past Okello outside the box before taking a shot just outside the 18, while rolled just past the reach of Cohen to the bottom right corner of goal.

With the match knotted up a two a-piece after 90 minutes, the two sides went into a penalty shootout with an extra point in the standings up for grabs. The two sides traded successful conversions from the spot before Carleton had his shot saved after going to the lower right corner.

Atlanta United 2 (3-6-3, 13 points) wraps up its Florida portion of a three-match road trip on Sunday, June 30 as it makes its way down South for a duel with Inter Miami CF II at Chase Stadium (6:00 p.m. ET, Apple TV - MLS Season Pass, Soccer Down Here).
