2022 eMLS Cup Preview

North America’s top FIFA 22 tournament has arrived!

On Sunday, March 13, Paulo Neto and Atlanta United have the chance to be crowned eMLS champions, when the 2022 eMLS Cup presented by Coca-Cola kicks off in Austin, Texas.

Paulo enters the tournament as the 5th seed, earning an automatic berth in the knockout stage of the tournament. He will face the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier, which takes place Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.

The 19-year-old Brazilian hit the ground running this season, reaching the League Series 1 final for the first time in his eMLS career. He fell just short of the title, losing 4-3 on aggregate to the tournament’s top-seed GoalMachine (Toronto FC).

He followed that performance up with a top 4 finish in League Series 2, securing his second appearance in the eMLS cup in just three seasons.

Paulo’s squad features new FUT Cards for Miles Robinson and Marcelino Moreno, released as part of FIFA 22’s league-themed Squad Foundations Objectives challenge.

With Robinson anchoring his defense, Moreno partnering in the midfield with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sebastian Lletget, and the Ronaldo Icon that produced goal after goal up top during League Series 1 and 2, Paulo will look to impose his calculated, attacking style to emerge on top of the 12-man field.

The top three finishers at eMLS Cup will earn direct invites to the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs (FGS), but as Paulo Neto stated before the season, his main goal is to bring Atlanta United its first-ever eMLS Cup.

Fans can tune into the 2022 eMLS Cup, Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET on the offiicial MLS Twitch and Twitter channels. Stay up to date on Paulo’s journey in Austin at atlutd.com/eMLSCup.
