Today the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 2016 NSCAA Youth All-America Teams, with Atlanta United’s Andrew Carleton receiving the highest honor of Boys Player of the Year. Carleton officially signed as the club’s first ever Homegrown Player in June earlier this year. He has spent the last few months playing for USL side Charleston Battery and the U.S. Soccer U17 Men’s National Team.
It’s been quite a week for the Homegrown player, as Carleton also participated in the official kit unveiling event this past Tuesday, a monumental moment in the club’s history. Fans were ecstatic not only to see the kit, but to see one of Atlanta’s own suited up to represent the city on the MLS stage.
It’s safe to say Carleton will remember this week for years to come.
