Atlanta, it's time to go big for our must-win home playoff match. đź”´ âš«
In 2017, Atlanta United put the league on notice that when the club opened the 300 Level and had 70,000 strong fighting for the red, black, and gold, the club meant business.
Saturday will be no exception.
Atlanta United will be going big for their home playoff match on Saturday, Nov. 2, a crucial must-win in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs Round One Best-of-3 Series against Inter Miami CF. The club will be opening the 300 Level to fill the seats with red, black, and gold at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and send this series back to Miami.
As the 9-seed, Atlanta United went toe-to-toe with Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in Game 1 on Friday night. It was Atlanta's third road match in six days, including a win on Decision Day that clinched a playoff berth and a thrilling win in penalties in the Wild Card game over 8-seed CF Montréal. The 5-Stripes eventually lost 2-1 to the 1-seed out of the Eastern Conference on the road in Game 1, but showed they are fully capable of playing competitively with the Supporters Shield' champions. Atlanta United did not lose to Miami in the regular season.
Atlanta United has set records with their 70,000+ attendance sizes. More than 73,000 spectators were on hand to see their hometown team lift the MLS Cup trophy at Mercedes-Benz Stadium when Atlanta United won the league title in just the club's second season in MLS in 2018. An epic showdown between Atlanta United and Orlando City SC in 2017 brought 70,425 supporters to the seats at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Earlier this season, Atlanta United hosted the third-largest crowd amongst all of soccer across the globe for that day.
