How To Watch The 5-Stripes During The September FIFA Window

Seven players from Atlanta United and Atlanta United 2 will represent their countries during the September international window:

• Thiago Almada - Argentina men's national team
• Josef Martínez - Venezuela men’s national team
• Ronald Hernández - Venezuela men’s national team
• Caleb Wiley - U.S. U-20 men's youth national team
• Ajani Fortune - Trinidad & Tobago senior national team
• Vicente Reyes - Chile U-20 national team
• Jonny Villal - Mexico U-18 national team

Almada will join Argentina for two friendlies during the September international window. This marks Almada’s first callup to the Argentina senior national team, making him just the second MLS player to be called into Argentina’s national team (Pity Martinez, 2019). Almada previously represented Argentina at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo where he made two appearances and had one assist.

This pair has made it a regular occurrence to be called up for Venezuela. Hernández has made 30 appearances for Venezuela and appeared in 11 of Venezuela’s 16 World Cup Qualifiers this past cycle. Martínez has made 61 career appearances for Venezuela and scored 13 goals with three assists. They join their home country for two friendlies, both of which will be played in Austria.

Wiley will join the U.S. for the Revelations Cup in Mexico City, Mexico from Sept. 19-28. It's the first training camp for the U-20s since winning the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship and clinching qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup as well as the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Wiley has made four appearances with the U.S. U-20s and three appearances with the U.S. U-17s.

Three members of Atlanta United 2 were also called up for the September FIFA window: midfielder Ajani Fortune (Trinidad & Tobago senior national team), goalkeeper Vicente Reyes (Chile U-20s) and midfielder Jonny Villal (Mexico U-18s). All three are Atlanta United Academy products.

United States men's national team

Although there are no 5-Stripes representing the U.S. this time around, the men's national team is playing two matches during the September window in the Kirin Challenge Cup that will be broadcast nationally. Get a glimpse of the red, white & blue for a pair of friendlies, the last competition before the U.S. heads to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which kicks off in November.
