The week couldn’t have gone better for Jackson Conway. After breaking the single-season scoring record for ATL UTD 2 with a brace against FC Tulsa on September 3, the 20-year-old Atlanta United Academy product was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for the second time this season.

Conway was sitting on eight goals before the Tulsa match, tied with Aiden McFadden’s record set in 2021. The Homegrown opened the scoring off a set piece in the 64th minute. Then, after Tulsa tied the game up, a brilliant assist from Jonny Villal set up Conway for the game-winning strike in the 89th minute. The brace brought Conway’s tally to 10 goals to take the record, the first time ever a 2s player scored in the double digits in one season.

“Yeah, it’s huge,” Conway said. “Huge personally and it’s big for the team as well because we’ve had a tough year, you know? It’s really important that I do it for them because they work so hard. The whole team deserved the win tonight and I couldn’t be happier for them and myself.”

Conway also holds the all-time scoring record for the 2s with 22 goals across three seasons with the team.

This is the second Team of the Week honor for Conway. He was named USL Player of the Week back in March after scoring a hat-trick against Charleston Battery. In addition to Conway, ATL UTD 2 goalkeeper Vicente Reyes was also named to the bench for this Team of the Week.

ATL UTD 2 is back in action Wednesday, September 7 when they host Memphis 901 FC at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
