Atlanta United became only the second team this season to pick up a point at BMO Stadium against Los Angeles FC on Wednesday. Captain and goalkeeper Brad Guzan put on a show making eight saves within the match to shut out LAFC in the scoreless draw. On the other side, D.C. earned a 2-1 win last Saturday against Miami with two second-half goals. Both teams have only lost once in their last six matches.

Series History and Last Meeting

Atlanta owns the series between the two sides 8-6 and has won the last three matchups. In August of 2022, the 5-Stripes won 3-2 in a back-and-forth match in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. All three of Atlanta's goals were scored on headers, including the 69th minute game-winner from defender Juanjo Purata.

Players To Watch

Brad Guzan (Atlanta United) – The veteran goalkeeper had an amazing performance in Atlanta's last match on Wednesday. Guzan earned his 50th MLS regular season clean sheet with eight saves, five of which came in the first half. The 38-year-old showed no signs that he is coming off of an MCL tear from earlier in the season, although he returned weeks earlier than his projected timeline.

Christian Benteke (D.C. United) – After signing with D.C. in August 2022, Christian Benteke has become a staple in its attack, starting in all but one of its matches this season. The striker leads the team with eight goals on the season, and he scored his 150th career club goal in May in the 87th minute of D.C.'s match against Toronto FC.
