Two Meetings in Two Weeks
Atlanta United and New York Red Bulls have met before this season. Just two weeks ago, Atlanta United traveled to New Jersey for the first meeting at Red Bull Arena on September 21. The 5-Stripes earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw behind a season-high eight saves from captain Brad Guzan. The performance, which included a penalty kick save, earned the veteran goalkeeper a nod on MLS Team of the Matchday.
Overall, Atlanta owns a 2-10-5 all-time record against New York Red Bulls.
Players To Watch
Daniel Ríos (Atlanta United) - The Mexican striker on loan from Chivas has had a productive season for the 5-Stripes. He's recorded seven goals this season, one behind team leader Saba Lobjanidze. Ríos scored the lone goal for Atlanta United in the 2-1 loss to CF Montréal in the first of back-to-back home matches for the 5-Stripes. We'll see Saturday night if the striker can catch Saba and get himself on the scoresheet once again.
Emil Forsberg (New York Red Bulls) - After being out several months due to a leg injury, the veteran midfielder made his first start since June in New York’s 4-1 win over Toronto FC last weekend at BMO Field. Forsberg recorded a goal and an assist in the match, which brings the Swedish international's goal contributions to 11 in 17 matches played this season.
