ATLANTA – FIFA announced today that Atlanta was one of 11 cities selected to host the 2025 Club World Cup Tournament taking place in the United States next summer.

The new FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025, will be the largest stand-alone global club football event ever staged with the best 32 clubs from all over the world participating. This global event will bring together the most successful clubs from each of the six international confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.

The matches to be played at MBS, teams and dates will be announced shortly after the draw, which is set for December.

"Mercedes-Benz Stadium has quickly become known for hosting the biggest soccer matches in the U.S., and we are excited to add the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to the roster," says Doug Roberts, vice-president stadium events and premium sales. “We are proud to have the opportunity bring global audiences to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in such a meaningful way ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”

The FIFA Club World Cup is the latest in a string of mega-events that have selected the state of Georgia to host their event. Mercedes Benz Stadium is slated to host the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in January, FIFA Club World Cup in the summer of 2025, FIFA World Cup in 2026 and the NCAA Final Four in 2031.

“Being named a host city for FIFA’s Club World Cup in 2025 is yet another great accomplishment for our city,” said Dan Corso, President, Atlanta Sports Council and Atlanta World Cup Host Committee. “Our region continues to build its reputation as a global destination for international soccer events and this will be a great way to celebrate being one-year out from hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
