Perhaps the biggest bright spot of the Atlanta United season so far has been the outstanding play of Miles Robinson. Michael Parkhurst said Sunday that the #2 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft has been arguably the team's best player this year, and has shown all season that he's turning that potential into a top-level player. This week he got the recognition he deserves with a spot in the back line of the MLS Best XI.
Robinson led the team in clearances, as well as 8 ball recoveries and a 100% tackle success rate –– and was dominant in the air with five aerial duels. But the stats hardly tell the story for a player whose speed and strength helped him dominate the back line, combined with a renewed calmness and precision in his passing and time on the ball. This is Robinson's first career appearance in the MLS Team of the Week.
