It's been 10 fantastic years, Atlanta. And it's time to celebrate! 🎉
Tuesday, April 16 marks 10 years since MLS announced that the league was expanding with a club in Atlanta. The announcement in 2014 signified Atlanta as the 22nd franchise in MLS. The club began MLS play in 2017.
Atlanta United is celebrating the 10-year anniversary with a live show of the History of Atlanta Soccer podcast. The event will be at Brewhouse Café at Little Five Points on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. The live show begins at 7 and will be hosted by local radio talent Jason Longshore, who also hosts and produces the podcast.
Tuesday's event will be a joyful celebration as we look back and share memories from the past 10 years. Special guests include play-by-play announcer Mike Conti, former Atlanta United player and member of the 2018 MLS Cup squad Greg Garza, Atlanta United staff, and members from the club's official supporter groups.
A recording of the live show will be released later this week as an episode on the History of Atlanta Soccer podcast feed, which is available to follow and subscribe on Apple Podcasts. Learn more about the podcast and listen to previous episodes at atlud.com/podcast.
More episodes, including three parts on Atlanta United, will drop later this year.
So wear your Five Stripes, grab a beer and join us as we celebrate the rich, beautiful history of soccer in Atlanta!
