It's a beautiful spring Saturday in the city of Atlanta, and the roof is open at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Soccer begins a little earlier than usual with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET in an afternoon home match for Atlanta United. The 5-Stripes host New England Revolution for an Eastern Conference matchup, the first meeting between the two sides this season.
Atlanta United is looking to close out the club's three-match homestand with three more points, and getting two chance creators back in the starting XI can certainly help make that happen. Attacking midfielder Alexey Miranchuk and fullback Pedro Amador are both listed in the starting lineup for head coach Ronny Deila. Amador has missed the last two matches with a quad injury. Miranchuk was limited last week with an adductor injury, missing the start but seeing action against FC Dallas as a substitute.
With all three designated players starting in the attack, the 5-Stripes will be looking to be on the front foot Saturday, especially coming off a one-goal performance last weekend in the draw with FC Dallas. Deila said this week that he felt confident about the chances the team is creating, it's just a matter of getting more players into the box and finishing.
The only player to score in each match of the homestand so far has been Miguel Almirón. If Atlanta United's electric midfielder makes it three-for-three today against New England, he could break the tie for second place in regular season scoring for the club, moving ahead of Thiago Almada.
Today's opponent for Atlanta United, the third of the home stretch, is New England Revolution. This New England squad has gotten off to a slow start in 2025, winning just once in six matches and scoring a league-low three goals. But Caleb Porter's squad shouldn't be underestimated. New England has been finding their form as of late, earning their first win against New York Red Bulls two weeks ago. The Revs also get two attackers back Saturday in former Inter Miami striker Leo Campana and Argentine midfielder Tomás Chancalay -- both are available off the bench.
Here's the full starting XI for Atlanta United against New England Revolution:
Brad Guzan (C), Brooks Lennon, Stian Gregersen, Luis Abram, Pedro Amador, Bartosz Slisz, Tristan Muyumba, Alexey Miranchuk, Saba Lobjanidze, Miguel Almirón, Emmanuel Latte Lath
Reserves: Josh Cohen, Luke Brennan, Noah Cobb, Matt Edwards, Ronald Hernández, Jay Fortune, Mateusz Klich, Xande Silva, Jamal Thiaré
Match Notes:
-- Brooks Lennon is one assist away from breaking Atlanta United's all-time assists record. He is currently tied with Julian Gressel with 39 career assists with the club.
-- Miguel Almirón was Atlanta's lone goal scorer in last weekend's draw with FC Dallas. The goal was the 23rd of his MLS regular season career, tied with Thiago Almada for second-most in club history.
-- Latte Lath will be looking to maintain his scoring run that ranks him second on the MLS Golden Boot list heading into this weekend. The Ivorian has scored five goals in his first seven MLS games. Only Tai Baribo from Philadelphia Union has scored more goals in 2025 with six.
-- Alexey Miranchuk returns to the starting XI for Atlanta United after coming off the bench against Dallas. He currently ranks tied for third in MLS in big chances created with five, per Opta.
-- Center back Derrick Williams and winger Edwin Mosquera are listed as out for this match. View Friday's Availability Report
