The Eastern Conference semifinal matchup in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs is set. No. 9 seed Atlanta United will travel to face No. 4 Orlando City SC at Inter&Co Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24.
Atlanta United arrived to the semifinals on a Cinderella run that began, coincidentally, in Orlando on Decision Day. The 5-Stripes defeated Orlando City 2-1 at Inter&Co Stadium on October 19 to clinch a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Since then, Atlanta United defeated CF Montréal in penalties in the Wild Card game, then upset No. 1 seed and Supporters' Shield winners Inter Miami CF in the Round One Best-of-3 Series. During the past month of play, Atlanta has found a way to win, surviving elimination multiple times and pulling off the greatest upset in MLS history.
Orlando City finished the regular season fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference. They moved straight to the Round One matches, which means they played one fewer round than Atlanta United. Finishing in the top-four also secured Orlando City home field advantage.
In their Round One Best-of-3 Series, Orlando City SC played 5-seed Charlotte FC. Both teams won a game in the series. Game 3 was decided on penalties to send Orlando through to the next round.
Roughly two weeks separate Game 3 of the Round One matches and the conference semifinals because of the FIFA international break that runs November 11-19.
