Atlanta United played Leones Negros to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes Tuesday night at Estadio Jalisco in its final preseason match of 2020. Leones Negros won the penalty shootout 3-1. Photos of the match can be found here.
Leones Negroes converted its first penalty and Josef Martinez answered to score Atlanta’s only goal of the shootout. Brad Guzan made one save in the shootout, while Fernando Meza, Emerson Hyndman and Ezequiel Barco each had their attempts saved. Rafa Duran and Juan Valenzuela each converted their attempts for Leones Negros.
Defender Miles Robinson suffered a left leg injury and was replaced by George Campbell in the 24th minute. Robinson will be evaluated over the next several days.
Atlanta United finishes with a 3-0-2 record in the 2020 preseason. The club will begin play in the 2020 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League against FC Motagua on Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Honduras.
