ATL UTD 2 travels to Indy for the third meeting between the two clubs this season. In the 2021 season, Atlanta holds a 1-1-0 advantage and has outscored Indy 7-3. Last time the two clubs faced off, Atlanta had a record night as it defeated Indy 6-2. With six goals scored, it was the most goals scored in a match in team history. Additionally, Tyler Wolff scored a hat trick and registered an assist, which was the first-ever professional hat trick by an Atlanta United Academy product. Wolff also scored the quickest goal in team history at 12 seconds. The Homegrown forward’s performance in the match earned him USL Championship Player of the Week honors for Week 16.
Most recently, Atlanta lost 3-1 at FC Tulsa, where Machop Chol scored his first professional goal. Indy is coming off a 2-0 win versus Real Monarchs SLC. Manuel Arteaga recorded a brace in the first half to lead Indy to three points at home. With last week’s results, Atlanta now sits in sixth in the Central Division with 25 points, while Indy is in fifth with 26 points.
