Players to Watch
Brad Guzan (Atlanta United) – As an MLS veteran goalkeeper, Brad Guzan has stood tall for the 5-Stripes throughout this season, including the team’s last match on the road in Canada. The goalkeeper came up with some big stops, including on a close-range shot from his former teammate Josef MartĂnez, and finished the night with six saves to limit MontrĂ©al to just one goal. Guzan has three clean sheets on the year so far and has put up key performances like the one against D.C. United that earned him a spot on MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 21.
Santiago RodrĂguez (NYCFC) – With eight goals and seven assists, both of which are tied for most on the team, RodrĂguez has played a large part in New York’s offense. His high ability to create chances, especially in the final third, is due to his quick touches on the ball. A key to Atlanta walking away with a good result will be containing NYCFC diverse attack, especially RodrĂguez.
