Career Summary

Sandoval joins ATL UTD 2 from the NASL’s San Francisco Deltas where he won the 2017 NASL Championship. His professional career began in 2013 when he was selected by Real Salt Lake in the second round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. Sandoval spent four seasons with RSL and made 74 appearances, scoring seven goals. He has experience in USL after spending time on loan with Carolina RailHawks, now North Carolina FC, and Real Monarchs. Sandoval played collegiately at San Diego State University and the University of New Mexico.

2017 (San Francisco Deltas): Made 28 combined appearances between the Spring and Fall NASL seasons. He scored four goals. During the NASL playoffs, Sandoval scored the second goal in a 2-0 win over New York Cosmos in the final to win the NASL Championship.

2016 (Real Salt Lake):  Sandoval made two starts and 12 appearances in MLS. He played five matches while on loan with Real Monarchs and scored against Oklahoma City Energy FC (May 24). Sandoval also spent time with Rayo OKC during the NASL Fall Championship where he scored one goal and registered two assists over 12 games.

2015 (Real Salt Lake):  Sandoval made 17 starts over 30 matches played and scored four goals with two assists.

2014 (Real Salt Lake): Sandoval made seven starts over 15 appearances. He recorded one assist. Sandoval spent time on loan with the Carolina RailHawks where he made three appearances and scored one goal.

2013 (Real Salt Lake): In his rookie campaign, Sandoval made 17 appearances and 10 starts. He scored three goals in league play. Sandoval scored his first MLS goal at New England Revolution in a 2-1 win (May 8). U.S. Open Cup: Sandoval scored three goals and had one assist in three games. He scored against Atlanta Silverbacks in a 3-2 extra-time win (May 28), and netted a brace in a 5-2 extra-time win over Charleston Battery (June 12). MLS Cup Playoffs: Sandoval played in three matches during RSL’s run to the MLS Cup Final. He scored his first playoff goal in a 4-2 win over Portland Timbers in the conference semifinals (Nov. 10).

COLLEGE: After spending his freshman year at San Diego State, Sandoval transferred to the University of New Mexico for his final three years of college. The Albuquerque native finished his UNM career with 28 goals and 17 assists, and was named a second-team All-American for his 15-goal, seven-assists senior season.
