Stars, Stripes, and Soccer Cup

Atlanta United hosts the Stars, Stripes and Soccer Cup and invites active-duty service men and women from the different installations across Georgia to compete in a friendly, competitive tournament. This season, we have expanded to include an active-duty team from South Carolina and Alabama, as well as five veteran service organizations from the Georgia community to compete. The weekend includes a matchday experience at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Mission: TAPS – ‘I Play For’

Atlanta United, in partnership with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), honored local military families that lost a loved one in the line of duty. The ‘I Play For’ video shoot showcases Atlanta United players posing with families of Fallen Heroes as they express the reason why they play.

Memorial Day

Continuing the new tradition, Atlanta United welcomed the family of Senior Airman Deanna Richards, United States Air Force, for a special changing of the flag ceremony at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground during Memorial Day Weekend to honor their Fallen Hero.

Soldiers' Angels Veteran Food Packing and Distribution

Atlanta United has provided volunteers to assist Soldiers’ Angels in tackling food insecurity among Veterans and their loved ones. The day consists of food packing and distribution to various VA locations across Metro Atlanta area, with the goal of extending it’s reach beyond just the Downtown Atlanta area. Soldiers’ Angels mobile food distribution provides roughly 75 pounds of food assistance to 200 low income and at-risk veterans and their families - that’s nearly 15,000lbs of food. The bags of food usually contain fresh produce and meats in addition to non-perishable food items.
